PARTY Weekend (and my 100th post-yeah!)

This weekend started off with Katelyn's b-day on Friday. Katelyn and I went for a pedicure after school, followed by her favorite dinner, presents, cake, ice cream, and a Harry Potter movie.

Saturday Kirk took pictures of his parents at the temple, and then we went to Oregano's to partake of the pazookie goodness- mmm good!

Then the biggest event of the weekend was Katelyn's baptism. She was beautiful and when I was helping her get dressed after her baptism I asked her how she felt and she said ..."cold."

Sunday was Kaleb's 6th birthday (whose idea was it to have kids 2 days apart anyways!)
We played the wii, played legos, ate pizza, cake and ice cream, and opened presents.

Now it is time to clean my house and do some laundry.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas (inside)

One of the many reasons why I love shatterproof ornaments.

The Christmas tree ornaments spend alot of time on the floor or in a grocery cart, but every once in awhile all of the decorations will be on the tree at the same time, usually at night when everyone is asleep. Nevertheless, it is beginning to feel like Christmas around our house, except when you step out the front door and feel wonderful 70 degree weather.

Good Times

Not a day goes by where we don't laugh at something our children have said or done.

My mom brought cupcakes over and we set them on the counter. Later, Carter climbed on the barstool and onto the counter and partook. He was so proud of himself when I found him.

Yesterday, Kaleb was pretending to be blind during dinner (not sure why). As dinner went on he tattled on something he saw Katelyn do, and we reminded him that he was blind. He quickly replied, "I was, but Heavenly Father and Jesus healed me".

Star Student

Kaleb was thrilled to be the first person to be star student in his class. He got to make a poster about his favorite things, and sit in the rocking chair at school and tell the class jokes.

I am Special Because...
Loves to laugh, joke, and tease.
Always has a smile on his face
Is a good worker and helper (does his jobs everyday)
Loves to play games (video games, board games, card games, etc.)

He often gets awards from school too for being such a great student. Yesterday when I picked up the kids from school, his teacher came up to the car and told me what a great little boy Kaleb was. I complimented him in the car on doing such a great job and Katelyn revealed that Kaleb told his teacher to come tell me how great he was.

School Days

The first day of school has come and gone. Kaleb is in all day kingergarden (didn't want it but that was all that was offered) and he absolutely loves it. He wore his name tag so he wouldn't get lost and made a new best friend who was wearing a green shirt (he didn't know his name.)

Katelyn loved doing crafts, has her best friend in her class, and sits close by the boy she likes :)

It was very quiet around our house during nap time. The kids bedroom stayed clean for the whole day and I think Carter was wondering where everyone had gone. Kirk and I celebrated (with the babies) by going to the mall and out to lunch. I think I can get use to this school thing.

Merry Christmas

Look at these awesome Christmas photos.  The photographer is amazing and the kids are darling!  I couldn't be happier with them.  I just wanted to share them with everyone.

Carter was a little sad which is very ironic because he is such a good baby, but everytime we get his pictures done he isn't a big fan- oh well.

Christmas Crafts

I saw this on Martha Stewart (I think) and thought we would give it a try.  All we needed were some toothpicks (cut in half), a styrofoam wreath (found at the dollar store or Michaels), and a whole lot of gum drops.  The kids had a great time putting it all together.  They needed just a little help putting some of the toothpicks in the styrofoam but for the most part they did it all by themselves.

Halloween Part 2

Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Superbaby had a great halloween. They got loads of candy which we will all enjoy. Now I can clean up my laundry room from all that costume mess and move on to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Happy Halloween

Go Super Heroes!!!

I love Halloween and all the candy!!! Today started out so fun. The kids got to wear their costumes to school. MacArthur had a parade with all the students around school and the neighborhood. It was so fun to see all the kids decked out and feeling so cute.

Okay check out that spiderman. The kids were convinced he was real. He totally acted like him too. I think I would have to work out for months before I attempted to get into a tight spandex suit. Maybe next year :)

For now I will just dress up like an old lady.

Soccer

Kaleb has been waiting for months for soccer to start. Everyday he asks me if soccer practice is today? Needless to say, he really likes it, and he looks so cute with his cleats and shin guards.

mama said there would be days like this...

Do you remember this old song??? Today was one of those days. It started off with Kirk going to the dr. for strep throat and a weird eye infection (his eyes got so puffy with junk coming out of them). Then I was suppose to watch my friend's child while she went in to volunteer in our children's classroom (we switch off every other Monday) but of course I totally spaced it and was just hanging out at my mom's house. Then Katelyn tripped in our entry way and split her forehead open so Kirk took her to Urgent Care that is just a block from our house. It was 8:15 when they walked in but they stop taking patience at 8:00. So Kirk ran to the store and got a butterfly bandage and worked his medical magic.

However, the day was actually filled with good things too. Kaleb got his first free book at preschool for reading 100 books. Carter held a toy and put it in his mouth for the first time. And Katelyn came home from school with her bottom 2 teeth loose.

Preschool, here I come

After waiting all summer long Kaleb's first day of preschool has arrived. He couldn't be happier. He got a cool backpack with secret pockets and the coolest light up shoes ever. He got a stamp on his hand at the end of preschool and wouldn't let Max (our dog) come near him in fear that he would lick it off.

Kaleb has been waiting all summer to get these shoes. Katelyn got pink light up shoes a few months ago and he has been in love with them ever since. He would wear them any chance he got. One night I got Kaleb up for our nightly bathroom trek and when I pulled back the covers I discovered he was wearing her shoes in bed. The day he got these he had a hard time watching where he was going because he was always watching his shoes. Simple pleasures!!!
